I am a Cameraman/Director/Photographer. I shoot News and Entertainment stories, cover Special Events, VIP Interviews and Commercial Productions. I covered the Midwest as a news cameraman for CBS NEWS and was assigned to work in Washington DC. I covered Presidential Campaigns, the State Department, the White House and other History Making Events. I then worked for CBS in Chicago as a Breaking News Photographer as well as a Photojournalist shooting Feature Stories, Investigative and Special Project assignments. I've been assigned to cover over 15,000 news stories and did over 10,000 LIVE Shots in my career, worked with over 150 different reporters and have shot hundreds of interviews of Famous people & VIP'S, (See Television for a partial list) In addition to production assignments, I am currently working as a Photographer and as a freelance cameraman with Satellite trucks covering Special events and LIVE news stories. My occupation requires me to travel to San Diego, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and LA as well as other areas outside California. Some of the more interesting assignments I had this year were: Celine Dion at Club Pure at Caesars Palace for In-Style magazine video taping her Photo Shoot in las Vegas...The movie STEALTH Red Carpet Premier at the Naval base in San Diego (Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel & Jamie Foxx) for Sony Pictures and Japanese TV...The last 16 days of the Michael Jackson Trial for COURT TV doing their LIVE Satellite guest interviews in Santa Maria...Internet photography for my favorite Hotel on the Ocean at Pismo Beach (Beach House inn)...A photo shoot for the Nano Technology Institute...Promotional photography for Sharkeez in Newport and Huntington Beach, Photos for McClain Publishing. Videotaping a Photo shoot and interviews of 40 NBA basketball stars for ESPN Hollywood in Las Vegas...A Bloomberg Television Special in San Diego, A video photo shoot for Teen People magazine in Beverly Hills (Hilary Duff & Joel Madden) I am also a photographer for OnRequest Images...As a member of the OnRequest Images photographer network, I am part of a pool of over 1,600 world-class photographers representing over 53 countries.

Taught by my father Chuck Meyer who built the first minicam truck and did the first LIVE shot for CBS INC. in Chicago at WBBM TV with Bill Kurtis...
He also built a 3 camera production van that I operated for corporate and commercial clients. Prior to building the TV production van the only trucks for rent for remote productions were 40' trailers owned and operated by Olympic Television Productions...Our van was equipped with (3) HL-35 Ikegami minicams and a TR-5 High band recorder...A central Dynamics VS-10 switcher and was used by CBS to do multi-camera LIVE shots at various locations in Chicago by linking the production van to one of the LIVE minicam trucks.
My first Job in Broadcast...I operated the truck and the cameras when needed.
I first started my career in broadcast News/Television after being the very first cameraman at the scene of the DC-10 crash in May of 1979 near Chicago at O'hare airport with a brand new Sony BVP-3 camera and a BVU-100 VTR. My first shot at the scene was a tilt down from a jet taking off to the smoking landing gear of the jet that just crashed which was all that was left. I fed the video as soon as the first Channel 2 news crew arrived in their LIVE truck and that video went around the world. I was working freelance at the time..I was hired to work at CBS NEWS the next day. Less than a year later I was offered a Staff position.
