The best thing about makeup is the way it transforms people- not just in the way they look- but it can totally change a person's mood. It can be that one thing that helps an actor totally create their character. It can hide a flaw. It can lift a person's spirit. It can make them look a mess or absolutely perfect.
Makeup has always been a passion of mine. From the time I was a young girl, I've loved playing with different colors and products. I got into trouble for ruining a lot of my mom's lipsticks, but it was always worth it to see myself, or one of my sisters looking like one of those models in the magazines. I grew up in Detroit, with a passion for changing looks, but no real outlet for it. People told me I was good at what I did, but it was more of a hobby- something I did for fun with my friends or the local theater group. I came to Los Angeles about five years ago and realized I could make a career out of what I loved. And that is exactly what I have done! I've expanded my talents in the realm of beauty makeup and have also found a new love in Special Effects! From kohl rimmed eyes and crimson lips to wounds, bruises, and gore- I love it all! |
